Job Summary
Assist customers with yard material, loading, unloading, and stocking of materials in the lumber yard and warehouse. Maintain a safe work environment, greet customers, direct them to materials, and help load purchases. Proactively learn product knowledge, locations, and uses; communicate with sales and yard teams to ensure prompt, coordinated customer service. May pull loads for delivery, and operate forklifts and light trucks after proper training and certification; report unsafe conditions or incidents as they occur.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred but not necessary
- 1-3 months experience preferred
- Ability to perform physical requirements
- Ability to safely operate forklifts and light trucks upon training and certification
- Develop knowledge of materials, locations and uses
- Strong customer service orientation
- Attention to accuracy when loading/unloading materials and checking invoices
