Job Summary
Measure, cut, and trim wooden poles using tape measures, hand tools, and power tools while adhering to OSHA safety rules and Bell safety standards. Assist with moving wood across the yard, into storage, and into or out of trucks and rail cars. Operate shop tools, perform equipment startup and shutdown, and conduct annual preventative maintenance. Maintain effective communication with co-workers regarding operational needs. Work outdoors in all weather conditions Monday through Friday from 7am to 3:30pm, with possible overtime or weekend work as needed.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent education
- Previous experience working outdoors
- Experience using a tape measure
- Experience working with a chainsaw
- Ability to withstand extreme weather conditions
- Attention to detail
- Teamwork
- Physical stamina and strength
- Ability to handle heavy equipment
- Ability to work independently
- Ability to multitask
- Must be able to lift and/or move 50 pounds or more
- Peripheral vision
- Ability to adjust focus
Desired Qualifications
- Experience operating heavy machinery
- Experience with log handling
