Job Summary
US Foods Yard Jockey role involves driving/delivering as part of a food-distribution team. Responsibilities include communicating with Dispatch/Router for truck/trailer and door assignments, moving trailers between buildings, loading/unloading or merging loads, staging shuttle trailers, setting up backhauls with tractor and pallets, placing backhauls in correct doors for unloading, ensuring equipment is paired and ready for next day, and working with mechanics. Requires ability to lift 20–80+ lbs, ability to work in varying weather, and being at least 21 with a valid state-issued driver’s license; DOT physical and English literacy are required. Compensation highlighted at $23.43/hour with benefits from day one and a base rate between $20.00-$25.00, plus safety and compliance expectations (FMCSA Clearinghouse involvement).
Required Qualifications
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Valid driver's license issued by state of residence
- Minimum of six months non-CDL commercial driving experience preferred
- Ability to operate manual transmission preferred in some locations
- Must be able to pass DOT physical
- Must be able to read and communicate in English
