Job Summary
Yard Jockey Driver for a leading Medical Waste Services provider. Responsibilities include safely moving, staging, and positioning trailers in the facility yard; performing trailer spotting, yard management, pre-trip and post-trip inspections; operating Yard Jockey trucks, tractor-trailers, and Roll-Off trucks; providing coverage for Long-Haul and Roll-Off routes during vacations or absences; learning dispatch tasks (weighing trucks/trailers, issuing and recording transportation documentation); maintaining DOT logs and compliance with DOT regulations; collaborating with dispatch, operations, and facility personnel; using ELD systems; and completing duties as assigned. The role offers paid training, uniforms, and a Stay-On Bonus, with a rotating 3-on/3-off schedule and outdoor work in varying weather.
Required Qualifications
- Class A CDL required
- Minimum of 2 years of tractor-trailer driving experience preferred
- Experience operating tractor-trailers, Yard Jockey trucks, terminal tractors, or similar commercial vehicles preferred
- Roll-Off truck experience preferred but not required; training will be provided
- Valid DOT Medical Card
- Must pass pre-employment drug screen, background check, and motor vehicle records check
- Strong knowledge of DOT regulations and safe driving practices
- Ability to work a rotating 3 days on / 3 days off schedule, including weekends, holidays, and occasional night shift coverage
- Excellent customer service, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Ability to lift, push, pull, or handle containers and equipment of varying weight
- May require immunizations and credentialing based on customer requirements
