Job Summary
Operate a semi-truck to transport galvanized steel between the Production Lot and Laydown Yard, utilizing a forklift for secure loading and unloading. Conduct daily safety inspections of all equipment, fasten loads to prevent shifting, and prepare packages with appropriate labeling. Coordinate with production and logistics teams to optimize transport schedules, assist in inventory management, and perform routine vehicle maintenance checks. Maintain clear communication with customers and shop personnel while adhering to all DOT regulations. Work a 2:30 PM to 11:00 PM shift as a full-time employee. Upon successful completion of the initial 60-90-day temporary agency period, transition to a permanent role with a pay increase.
Required Qualifications
- Mandatory possession of a (CDL) Class A Endorsement on driver's license with a 5-year clean driving record
- In-depth knowledge of DOT regulations and compliance requirements
- Strong organizational and time management skills to meet tight deadlines
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision as well as part of a team
Desired Qualifications
- Preferred one year of experience in commercial driving, including operation of semi-trucks, flatbeds, and trailers
- Proficient in operating a forklift, with prior certification highly preferred
