Job Summary
Spotter unit yard hostler for a major retail customer in Blue Springs, MO, combining yard spotting with local driving on dedicated dry vans. Operate equipment without touching freight, working solo shifts ranging from 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM or 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM. Home every night with no weekend work, though peak season runs August through November and some weeks may include nine-hour days. Located within 40 miles of Blue Springs, this role offers $25/hour with weekly pay, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, and 401(k). Virtual orientation and road test required.
Required Qualifications
- 21 years or older
- Valid Class A CDL
- Must have held a U.S. driver's license the last 12 consecutive months
- Current DOT medical card
- No endorsements required for this position
- 6 months OTR experience within the last 12 months, OR 12 months OTR experience within the last 5 years
- No more than 2 moving violations in the last 2 years
- No serious traffic violations in the last 12 months
- Speeding 30+ MPH over = automatic disqualification for 3 years
- Original ticket copies required for all citations in the last 3 years
- No more than 1 DOT preventable accident in the last 2 years
- No major preventable accidents in the last 5 years
- No more than 3 preventable incidents in the last 2 years
- Preventable rear-end accident = 1 year disqualification
- Accident reports required for ALL accidents in the last 5 years
- No more than 4 driving jobs in the last 12 months
- No more than 1 safety-related termination in the last 5 years
- No DUI/DWI in a commercial vehicle — ever
- No DUI/DWI in the last 10 years while holding a CDL or CLP
- No DUI/DWI in the 5 years before obtaining your CDL or CLP
- No multiple DUI/DWIs
- No failed or refused drug tests — no exceptions
- Hair AND urine testing required, both must be passed
- No drug-related convictions in the last 5 years
- Must live within 40 miles of ZIP 64029 (Blue Springs, MO)
- Road test and safety review required on select applications
