Job Summary
Complete and communicate daily goals, schedules, and expectations for department yard crew. Oversee inventory records for materials and equipment, maintain transaction forms, and coordinate inter-company deliveries with required paperwork. Aid enterprise employees in securing, scheduling, and shipping items while ensuring permits and safety checks are completed. Participate in developing department standards and procedures, communicate personnel needs to the supervisor, and conduct performance evaluations with direct reports. Work independently with a high sense of urgency, lifting 50 pounds frequently and operating vehicles or cranes as needed. Work a 40-hour week with overtime and off-hour shifts in extreme weather conditions.
Required Qualifications
- General laydown yard operations knowledge
- Experience operating general laydown yard equipment
- Experience managing, evaluating, and coaching direct reports
- Proven ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with others
- Experience demonstrating high drive and sense of urgency
- Demonstrated ability working independently with minimal direction at times
- Ability to give and receive both praise and criticism equally
- Demonstrated experience building and maintaining positive relationships
- Ability to lift 50 pounds, unassisted, frequently throughout the day
- Ability to work from various heights via ladders, scaffolds, aerial lifts, catwalks and other safe work platforms and area
- Able to work a 40-hour work week, with overtime and off-hour shifts as required
- Able to work in extreme weather conditions and elements, indoor or outdoor, including heat, cold, rain, mud, dust, and snow depending on the job location
- High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent
- Valid driving record
- OSHA 30 certification
- Must be able to potentially lift up to 50 pounds
- Must be able to potentially do repeated pushing, pulling, carrying, reaching (or working above shoulder), walking, standing, sitting, stooping, kneeling, bending, and climbing
- Must be able to potentially operate a motor vehicle, crane, tractor, etc.
