Job Summary
Yard Driver Operator for 2nd shift in Zeeland, MI, responsible for operating the yard truck to move and park trailers and trucks in loading areas, conducting pre-trip safety inspections, and ensuring safe, efficient trailer movement. The role requires coordinating with supervisors and the receiving/shipping team, maintaining timely communication with leadership, completing required paperwork and data entry, and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures. Duties include monitoring radio communications, ensuring accurate temperature settings on loads, performing inbound/outbound trailer temperature checks, and supporting overall yard and plant operations. Required Qualifications
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Must have a valid driver’s license
- Must not have any DUI/DWI convictions within the last 12 months
- Must be able to operate a yard tractor and be able to safely pull and back in trailers to and from docks
- Must have 3 months work experience listed on application (can be multiple employers but must add up to 3 months)
- Candidates who have previously worked for Tyson will have a minimum rehire waiting period of 365 days and are limited to 3 times of employment
- Must be willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation (lift up to 40 lbs; stand, walk, bend, squat, stretch, climb, push, pull, reach)
- Must be able to operate in outdoor conditions and in all weather
