Job Summary
Switch trailers, tractors, and straight trucks to transport goods between docks and designated locations while sequencing schedules for efficient loading and unloading. Load and unload trailers, verifying product counts and reporting any overages, shortages, or damages. Maintain equipment by inspecting tires, brakes, lights, and fuel levels; refuel vehicles and document their condition. Perform daily yard checks, properly secure loads according to local, state, and federal guidelines, and prepare accurate records. Keep the docking area clean and safe, reporting maintenance or safety issues to supervision immediately.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Minimum of one year verifiable experience driving, switching or commercial tractor
