Job Summary
Safely maneuver a tractor and trailer combination vehicle in a compact yard area, complete daily yard checks, and move empty trailers to shipping doors or remove loaded/empty trailers from dock doors at direction of management. Perform and document pre and post shift safety inspections, lift and open trailer doors, slide trailer tandems, place wheel chocks, and enter and exit the yard tractor numerous times per shift. Adhere to all safety policies and keep the tractor in a clean, sanitary condition. Work Monday through Thursday from 4:30 PM to 3:00 AM.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 21 years of age or older
- Valid driver's license
- Minimum of 1-year experience in the operation of a tractor-trailer unit in a yard driver/warehouse setting
- Ability to work independently
- Good customer service skills
- Ability to work overtime and adjust schedule as needed
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test and background investigation
