Job Summary
Yard Driver at CrossCountry Freight Solutions responsible for hooking and unhooking trailers, moving trailers and equipment around the yard, and ensuring proper positioning for loading/unloading freight. Duties include operating straight trucks or tractor-trailers, conducting pre-trip and post-trip inspections, maintaining driving records to comply with regulations, determining optimal loading methods to maximize trailer capacity while securing cargo, and adhering to safety, federal, state, and local hazmat requirements. The role requires maneuvering in tight spaces, handling freight manually and with equipment, and maintaining vehicle cleanliness and upkeep. Regular shifts from Mondays midnight to Friday mornings with competitive pay and comprehensive benefits after probationary period.
Required Qualifications
- 1 year of commercial driving experience
- Hazmat and Tanker endorsements or willingness to obtain
- Must be 21 years of age
- No DUI or DWI in past 3 years
- No more than 3 traffic violations in past 3 years
