Job Summary
The Yard Crewmember will assist customers in the lumberyard, operate a forklift, stock products, and provide general store support. Duties include greeting customers, loading/unloading products for customers/vendors/company vehicles, answering product questions, informing management of customer requests, moving and organizing building materials, conducting routine forklift safety checks, maintaining yard/warehouse cleanliness, verifying tickets, covering exposed materials to prevent weather damage, cutting lumber and related materials as requested, attending meetings and training, and completing required company training and certification. Requires ability to follow instructions, professional conduct, knowledge of weight distribution and loading patterns, and forklift certification; on-the-job training is provided through levels 1 and 2 of positional training. Physical requirements include prolonged standing, lifting up to 80 pounds (occasional up to 100 pounds), and pushing/pulling 50 pounds, with potential overtime, night, weekend, and holiday work. Required Qualifications
- Forklift certification
- high school diploma or equivalent preferred
- successful completion of on-the-job training levels 1 and 2
