Job Summary
Drive new vehicles from the plant to and between various locations around the Kansas City area, including baying vehicles at offsite yards. Adhere to all traffic laws and AAR standards while reading VIN numbers, inspecting for damage, and ensuring proper parking. Maintain work areas and vans in a clean, neat condition while reporting hazards and accidents immediately. Follow safety guidelines, attend monthly meetings, and communicate effectively as part of the team. Work outdoors in all weather conditions for up to 10 hours per shift, standing for extended periods.
Required Qualifications
- Valid driver's license with a good driving record
- 5 years driving experience
- Ability to pass a drug test and background check
- High School Diploma and/or GED
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions (often extreme) for long periods of time
- Ability to stand for up to 10 hours or more per shift
- Ability to get in and out of vehicle driver's door with minimal door opening clearance
- Ability to use technology equipment to assist in job duties
- Ability to function effectively under pressure
- Ability to communicate with others effectively; work as a team; good interpersonal skills
- Ability to judge distances
- Ability to maintain a good sense of balance
- Ability to keep confidential any work documents seen or conversations heard during performance of job duties
- Ability to read and match numbers quickly and accurately
- Ability to differentiate between colors for vehicle identification
- Ability to write, read, and comprehend basic English
- Ability to drive automatic automobiles
- Ability to follow directions, both written and verbal
- Good visual ability and auditory ability
- Strong attention to detail
- Must be able to work the full shifts on every weekend with some shifts during the week (days & nights) as needed
- Must adhere to all local, state and federal traffic laws
- Must be able to maintain a good sense of balance
- Good and regular attendance
- Must pass AWCT pre-placement background clearances including pre-employment drug screening
