Job Summary
Porter / Yard Worker responsible for stationing and retrieving equipment on Sunbelt Rentals location grounds, maintaining a written maintenance schedule, and inspecting equipment before and after rental to document losses or damage. The role may service equipment to meet specifications, requires safety-focused performance, basic math, mechanical aptitude, and the ability to communicate effectively with customers. Training resources and a robust benefits package accompany this role, with opportunities for advancement into mechanic, driver, or customer service positions. The position is based in San Diego, CA and includes extensive on-the-job training; prior experience with construction tools and equipment is preferred, and bilingual ability may be required based on location.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Experience with common construction and industrial tools preferred
- Some experience and/or training in repair of mechanical equipment preferred
- Ability to communicate effectively with customers (written and oral)
- Basic math skills (add, subtract, multiply and divide)
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word) or equivalent
