Job Summary
Assist the crush operator by removing cores and commodities from vehicles before crushing. Perform yard maintenance tasks including sweeping, shoveling, and collecting debris to maintain clear pathways and a clean working environment. Operate yard vehicles and heavy equipment to support team members while actively contributing to process improvements. Follow all safety protocols and remain alert to ensure a safe environment. Work outdoors in changing weather conditions, lifting objects up to 50 lbs, and use hand and power tools as needed. Schedule runs Thursday through Monday from 8am to 5pm, with part-time weekend availability.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Ability to read, write and comprehend instructions, short correspondence, and memos
- Must be able to work effectively alone or with others in a team environment
- Must be able to work collaboratively across functions
- Must be a self-starter with the demonstrated ability to meet timelines and schedules related to essential functions described above
- Must demonstrate attention to detail and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks
- Must be able to ambulate throughout the facility and salvage yard for most of the workday
- Must be able to continuously work outdoors exposed to changing weather conditions (rain, sun, snow, wind, etc.)
- Ability to use both hands regularly with enough dexterity to operate basic hand and power tools safely
- Ability to lift, move, and carry objects and materials up to 50 lbs. with or without assistance
- Ability to work occasional overtime as needed as determined by the employee's supervisor
