Job Summary
The Sailing Instructor is responsible for instructing members and their children on sailing procedures, maintaining sailboats, and overseeing dock facilities. Key responsibilities include providing group and private sailing instruction, educating students on sailing terminology, supervising weekly races, and organizing sailing events. The role requires strong organizational and communication skills, the ability to work flexible hours, and a valid CPR/First Aid Certification. Critical physical capabilities include lifting over 50 lbs and enduring outdoor conditions.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum high school diploma or equivalent experience
- CPR/First Aid Certification required
- Ability to work flexible hours, including key holidays, evenings, and weekends
- Demonstrated strong organizational skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Physical capability to withstand prolonged periods of standing, walking, bending, reaching, and twisting
- Ability to consistently lift over 50 lbs
- Valid driver’s license and a clean criminal record
Desired Qualifications
- Two or more years of experience preferred
- Powerboat experience preferred
- US Sailing Level 1 Certification preferred
