Job Summary
Conduct daily Y on the Fly programming by engaging with children and youth, assisting with homework and crafts, and distributing snacks. Manage equipment setup, clean-up, and maintenance while completing a daily checklist and reporting any safety issues immediately. Supervise participants throughout the season to ensure YMCA standards, rules, and policies are followed, responding to parent inquiries and concerns professionally. Maintain a supportive atmosphere as a role model, adhering to physical demands including standing, walking, and lifting up to 25 pounds. This seasonal role (Aug 2026–May 2027) requires CPR/AED certification and aligns with the Stephens Family YMCA values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility to expand program reach into underserved neighborhoods.
Required Qualifications
- CPR/AED certified within 60 days of employment
- Ability to work with all ages of youth and their families at the site locations
- Ability to respond to any situation in a professional and respectful manner
- Ability to stand, walk, sit and stoop, kneel or crouch
- Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
- Ability to actively adhere to and promote the YMCA's abuse risk management policies
- Ability to recognize signs of abuse
- Ability to report any concerns or suspicious behaviors immediately
- Ability to participate in required training to stay informed on best practices for safeguarding
