Job Summary
Operate X-ray and fluoroscopic equipment to assist physicians with diagnosing and treating disease, preparing patients for procedures and positioning them for specific body parts. Select proper ionizing factors, adjust radiographic controls, and check images for clarity before retaking when necessary. Protect patients, staff, and self from radiation hazards while implementing infection control procedures. Maintain required records, perform quantity and quality control checks, and clean or repair radiographic equipment as needed. Requires an associate's degree in radiological technology and one to three years of experience.
Required Qualifications
- Associate's degree in radiological technology from accredited X-ray technology program
- One to three years of experience as an X-ray technologist, preferably in a medical practice environment
- X-Ray Tech License of RI
Desired Qualifications
- American Registry of Radiologic Technologist registration preferred
