Job Summary
Coordinate the reading of all x-ray films with physicians and assist with special procedures and patient evaluations. Prepare patients for examinations, arrange examining room equipment, and maintain accurate records of films and log entries. Initiate correspondence with patients and insurance companies while taking medical histories and vital signs to aid diagnosis. Perform basic radiologist tests, oversee x-ray production, and handle photocopying, scanning, and faxing duties. Represent the clinic professionally and ensure patient confidentiality at all times.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Minimum one year experience in an x-ray department in a hospital or physician's office
- 1-3 experience as an x-ray technician performing diagnostic radiography
- Certification by American Registry of Radiographic Technologist license and New Jersey state license
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Knowledge and proficiency with Microsoft Word and Outlook
- CPR Certification approved by AHA
