Job Summary
Assist physicians with patient evaluation and treatment, coordinate reading of x-ray films, and prepare patients for examinations. Arrange examining room instruments, maintain accurate records of all films, and initiate correspondence with patients and insurance companies. Perform basic radiologist tests, photocopying, scanning, and faxing while taking medical histories and vital signs. Relay test preparation information to patients and represent the clinic professionally in person and via telephone. Ensure patient privacy and confidentiality at all times.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Minimum one year experience in an x-ray department in a hospital or physician's office
- 1-3 experience as an x-ray technician performing diagnostic radiography
- Certification by American Registry of Radiographic Technologist license and New Jersey state license
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Knowledge and proficiency with Microsoft Word and Outlook
- CPR Certification approved by AHA
