Job Summary
Coordinate the reading of all x-ray films with physicians and maintain accurate records for jackets and filing. Assists physicians with evaluations, special procedures, and patient preparation while taking medical histories and vital signs. Arranges examining room instruments, performs basic radiologist tests, and initiates correspondence with patients and insurance companies. Ensures patient confidentiality and maintains a professional demeanor in person and via telephone. Performs photocopying, scanning, and faxing duties, and relays examination preparation information to patients.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Minimum one year experience in an x-ray department in a hospital or physician's office
- 1-3 experience as an x-ray technician performing diagnostic radiography
- Certification by American Registry of Radiographic Technologist license and New Jersey state license
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Knowledge and proficiency with Microsoft Word and Outlook
- CPR Certification approved by AHA
