Job Summary
Design, develop, and maintain high-performance, scalable financial software solutions with a focus on payment systems, transaction processing, and third-party integrations. Own the architecture for significant service components, build secure and efficient APIs, and implement distributed backend systems using Node.js, TypeScript, and event-driven patterns. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver features in Agile environments, ensure compliance with standards like PCI-DSS, and maintain robust monitoring and alerting systems. Respond promptly to system incidents, perform post-mortem analyses, and champion code quality through automated testing and peer reviews.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- 5+ years of experience in software development with a focus in financial technology and payments
- Proven experience building scalable, secure software solutions and APIs for high-transaction systems
- Strong programming proficiency in Node.js, TypeScript, or similar languages
- Experience designing and implementing APIs, backend systems, and microservices architectures
- Understanding of software security, encryption, and compliance standards in fintech (e.g., PCI-DSS, SOC2)
- Self reliance: Ability to work independently with limited supervision in order to achieve goals
Desired Qualifications
- Experience working in fast-paced, startup environments is a plus
- Familiarity with cloud services (AWS experience preferred) for building and scaling software applications
