Job Summary
Senior Processing Engineer to support the development and sustainment of X-ray tubes within the engineering team. Works with process engineers, design and development engineers, scientists, and technicians to implement new products into manufacturing, supports manufacturing and production control in continuous improvement, and mentors junior engineers and technicians. Responsibilities include gathering and analyzing engineering design, manufacturing and product support data; applying Lean product development, Theory of Constraints, and project management; coordinating data collection and communicating via flow charts, Pareto and control charts to drive yield improvements; overseeing processes and tests and documenting results; evaluating processes and designs for ROI and risk; applying problem solving tools; supporting Materials team with First Article reviews and coordinating material and specification changes; leveraging knowledge of UHV design, clean room operations, and machining; expertise in metal-to-ceramic brazing; and understanding of electron optics and high voltage interactions. Education/experience requirements include B.S. or M.S. in engineering or related field, 10+ years in micro-manufacturing (X-ray tube manufacturing preferred), Six Sigma/lean manufacturing training preferred, DOE interpretation, and MS Office proficiency.
Required Qualifications
- B.S. or M.S. in engineering field or science related discipline (ABET preferred)
- 10+ years of experience in micro-manufacturing environment (X-ray tube manufacturing preferred)
- Six Sigma and/or lean manufacturing training preferred
- DOE matrix creation and interpretation
- Proficient in MS Office. Specifically: Excel, Word, Visio, and Project.
