Job Summary
X-ray Technologist responsible for producing high quality radiographs following CityMD X-ray protocols and Department of Health regulatory compliance. Perform chest, extremity, spinal, and abdominal studies within established timeframes; document studies and facilitate communication between providers and radiologists using internal X-ray and care coordination software. Maintain accurate QC logs (pregnancy consent forms, daily checklists, patient logs, repeat/rejects) to ensure DOH compliance. Troubleshoot equipment/software malfunctions and notify site leadership when service is needed. Assist with patient flow and use the flag system to maintain clear communication among clinical staff. Perform vital signs and document results in the EMR. Assist with CLIA waived tests, EKGs, splints, sling placements, and proper use of crutches. Help maintain site cleanliness and overall patient care quality, safety, and best practices. Maintain ALARA practices to minimize radiation exposure. Strong detail orientation, organizational skills, problem-solving, and ability to work independently or with a healthcare team. Bilingual language skills preferred based on site location. BLS certification required at time of hire.
Required Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited X-ray Technologist program
- BLS certification at time of hire
- Bilingual language skills required or preferred based on-site location (if applicable)
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to perform basic X-rays of chest, hand, wrist, forearm, elbow, knee, foot or ankle
- Ability to position patients and set exposure factors
- Knowledge of ALARA and shielding techniques
- Proficiency with EMR and care coordination software
- Ability to troubleshoot equipment and software malfunctions
- Ability to document and maintain QC logs
- Flexibility with full-time schedule including weekends
