Job Summary
Operate CR/Digital X-ray and Bone Density systems while preparing patients, obtaining histories, and ensuring proper identification in PACS. Produce quality diagnostic images, maintain room cleanliness, and conduct routine quality control and QA/QC testing per state requirements. Manage work assignments, communicate with departments, and assist radiologists with fluoroscopic procedures and chart documentation. Verify exams, report equipment malfunctions, and adhere to radiation safety and sterile procedures. Travel to satellite locations as needed for coverage.
Required Qualifications
- Diploma from a vocational/technical school
- Prior radiology technologist experience
- Knowledge of procedural details
- ARRT certificate
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- License NJ Bureau of Radiological Health
- Ability to communicate in English, both orally and in writing
- Ability to perform diverse work assignments with time limitations with a high degree of accuracy
- Ability to use problem solving, critical thinking and priority setting skills
- Physical strength to lift heavy objects, carts, or items
- Physical mobility, which includes movement from place to place on the job
- Dexterity of hands and fingers
- Balance is maintained during climbing, bending and/or reaching
- Endurance (e.g. continuous typing, prolonged standing/bending, walking)
- Ability to travel to satellite locations as needed
- Must work at least one Holiday per year
- 2 or more of those shifts will occur during the weekend
- Per diem Technologists will typically be needed for 4 shifts within a 6-week scheduling grid
Desired Qualifications
- Associates degree
- 0-1 years experience
- 2-4 years preferred
- Experience with Standard Office Equipment (Phone, Fax, Copy Machine, Scanner, Email/Voice Mail)
- Experience with Standard Office Technology in a Window based environment
