X-ray Technologist

Job Summary
Obtain quality x-rays using correct positioning and radiation exposure while implementing safety procedures for patients, staff, and self. Create and document x-ray CD copies according to Patient First guidelines, assist physicians and nurses with patient triage, vital signs, and treatment preparation, and handle requests with respect. File paperwork, maintain work areas per OSHA standards, restock supplies, and use reporting tools like the Daily Log and X-ray Status Screen. Supervise externs and Radiologic Technologist Assistants during on-the-job training, ensuring they perform exams correctly. Check email, review memos, and complete checklists during shifts, with breaks and mealtimes subject to interruption for patient care or operations.
Required Qualifications
- 18 years of age or older
- Minimum typing experience
- High school graduate or equivalent
- Registered member of American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or graduate of an approved Limited Radiologic Technologist program required
- Licensed, if required in the state
- Must be able to hear pages, bells, and phone system
- Adequate visual, verbal, and written communication skills
- Ability to prioritize and multitask
- Must be able to sit, stand, and walk for long periods of time (possibly 4-6 hours at a time)
- Must be able to lift moderate to heavy items (up to 50 lbs.)
- Limited Radiologic Technologist must be licensed to practice in the following anatomical areas: chest/thorax, extremities, skull/sinuses, spine and abdomen/pelvis
- Must be available to assist as needed (breaks and mealtimes may be interrupted at any time to provide necessary patient care or to maintain center operations)
- Must attend training classes and staff meetings as scheduled

- Medical candidates with at least 1-2 years of experience in a physician's office or hospital setting
