Job Summary
Perform diagnostic X-ray imaging procedures in accordance with physician orders, established protocols, and applicable safety standards. Greet patients professionally, verify information, explain procedures, and promote comfort while preparing and positioning patients accurately to obtain optimal diagnostic images. Operate radiographic equipment safely, review images for technical quality, and assist with scheduling and coordinating appointments to support timely patient access. Maintain imaging rooms in a clean, organized condition, keep accurate patient records in electronic systems, and collaborate with radiologists and clinical staff to ensure efficient operations. Adhere to all radiation safety standards, infection control procedures, and HIPAA requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited radiologic technology program
- Current certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
- Current state licensure as a Radiologic Technologist
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience performing diagnostic X-ray procedures
- Knowledge of radiographic imaging protocols
- Knowledge of radiation safety practices
- Knowledge of patient care standards
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Knowledge of clinical workflows
- Ability to stand, walk, and assist patients for extended periods throughout the workday
- Ability to lift, move, or position patients and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds
- Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination sufficient to operate radiologic equipment, handle supplies, and use computer systems
- Ability to see, hear, and communicate adequately to perform imaging procedures and interact effectively with patients and staff
- Ability to work varied shifts, including weekends or extended hours
- Ability to maintain consistent, regular, and predictable attendance
