Job Summary
Perform x-ray energy applications for patient diagnosis and treatment using radio/fluoroscopic procedures. Execute medical imaging techniques to demonstrate anatomy for interpretation, ensuring proper patient positioning, technique selection, and correct use of digital systems including RIS and Synapse/PACS. Verify patient identity, review requisitions, and document complete histories per ACR standards. Apply radiation safety protocols, adjust technical factors based on anatomy, and conduct quality assurance activities to drive continuous improvement. Maintain a safe environment by managing supply inventory and demonstrating professional behavior with patients and colleagues. Requires ARRT registration, state licensure, and BCLS.
Required Qualifications
- Successful completion of a radiology program at an accredited school
- Current registration with the American Registry of Radiological Technologists (ARRT)
- State licensure, where required
- BCLS required
- Competency in venipuncture, aseptic technique, universal precautions and documentation, contrast administration, and use of power injector
