Job Summary

Provide leadership for quality, compliance, risk, patient safety, or regulatory programs while supporting a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement. Monitor quality indicators, patient outcomes, incidents, and performance trends; lead investigations, root cause analyses, and corrective action planning. Develop policies, procedures, and compliance programs; support regulatory surveys, accreditation visits, and readiness activities. Manage risk identification, reporting, mitigation, and follow-up; support infection prevention and safety initiatives. Educate employees and leaders on expectations; partner with clinical, operational, HR, finance, and executive teams. Prepare reports and recommendations for executive leadership and governing boards; track improvement plans and sustain progress. Support grievance, complaint, and event-review processes; help organizations respond to changing regulations and standards. Build practical, consistent systems for employees.

Required Qualifications

  • Progressive experience in healthcare quality, compliance, risk, patient safety, infection prevention, or regulatory affairs
  • Previous leadership experience as a director, manager, officer, supervisor, or comparable professional
  • Knowledge of healthcare regulations, accreditation standards, quality improvement, and risk-management practices
  • Experience with audits, investigations, corrective action plans, or survey readiness
  • Strong analytical, communication, education, and problem-solving skills
  • The ability to work collaboratively across clinical and operational departments
  • Experience with rural hospitals, Critical Access Hospitals, FQHCs, public hospital districts, long-term care, or community healthcare organizations
  • Relevant education, licensure, or certification based on the position
  • A practical, fair, and relationship-focused leadership style

Desired Qualifications

  • Some opportunities may require or prefer credentials such as CPHQ, CHC, CHPC, CPPS, CIC, ARM, RN, or another quality, compliance, risk, privacy, safety, or clinical credential
