Job Summary
Provide strategic and operational leadership for human resources across rural healthcare organizations, including Critical Access Hospitals, Federally Qualified Health Centers, and public hospital districts. Advise executives and managers on workplace matters while leading employee relations, investigations, and conflict resolution. Oversee compensation, benefits, leave administration, and HR operations, ensuring compliance with employment laws and regulations. Develop policies, procedures, and employee handbooks; build recruitment strategies for hard-to-fill roles; and support organizational change, restructuring, or growth. Manage credentialing, background checks, and workforce compliance processes. Strengthen employee engagement, communication, and culture while helping employees and leaders feel informed, supported, and heard.
Required Qualifications
- Progressive human resources leadership experience
- Experience as an HR Director, HR Manager, HR Business Partner, Talent Acquisition leader, or comparable professional
- Knowledge of employment law, employee relations, recruitment, benefits, compensation, and HR compliance
- Experience advising executives and department leaders
- Strong communication, discretion, and conflict-resolution skills
- Experience building or improving HR policies, systems, and processes
- Experience with healthcare workforce challenges and hard-to-fill positions
- Rural hospital, Critical Access Hospital, FQHC, public hospital district, long-term care, or community healthcare experience
- A bachelor's degree in human resources, business, healthcare administration, or a related field
Desired Qualifications
- Relevant certification such as SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR
