Job Summary
Provide strategic and operational leadership for behavioral health services in rural Wyoming settings. Develop, expand, or strengthen mental health and substance use programs while supporting integrated care within primary care or hospital environments. Lead clinical and nonclinical teams, recruit and retain professionals, and strengthen access to care in underserved communities. Oversee program quality, compliance, and budget management; build relationships with schools, law enforcement, tribal partners, and public agencies. Track outcomes to improve sustainability and advocate for patients and families. This role connects with Critical Access Hospitals, Federally Qualified Health Centers, and community organizations to address workforce shortages and ensure compassionate, responsive care close to home.
Required Qualifications
- Progressive experience in behavioral health, mental health, substance use treatment, social services, or integrated care
- Previous leadership experience as a director, manager, clinical supervisor, program administrator, or comparable leader
- Experience developing, managing, or improving behavioral health programs
- Knowledge of behavioral health regulations, documentation, quality standards, and reimbursement
- Experience leading multidisciplinary teams
- Strong communication, relationship-building, and problem-solving skills
- Experience working with rural, underserved, or high-need populations
- Familiarity with hospitals, FQHCs, Rural Health Clinics, community behavioral health organizations, or public agencies
- Relevant education, licensure, or certification based on the specific position
- A compassionate, collaborative, and community-focused leadership style
Desired Qualifications
- Some opportunities may prefer or require licensure such as LCSW, LMSW, LPC, LMFT, LAT, psychologist, psychiatric nurse practitioner, or another behavioral health credential
