Job Summary
Support the planning, design, and delivery of municipal water and wastewater infrastructure projects, including treatment, conveyance, lift stations, pump stations, pipelines, and related civil infrastructure. Serve as a technical lead or design engineer on these projects while assisting project managers with scope, schedule, budget tracking, staffing coordination, and client communication. Prepare and review engineering reports, technical memoranda, construction plans, specifications, cost estimates, and permit applications. Coordinate with internal design teams, subconsultants, clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies. Assist with construction phase services, including RFIs, submittal reviews, site visits, and field observations. Mentor junior engineers and EITs by providing technical guidance and review.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental, or related Engineering discipline
- Professional Engineer license in Texas
- Approximately 6+ years of experience in water/wastewater engineering
- Experience with municipal water and wastewater infrastructure design
- Working knowledge of project delivery, design standards, permitting, specifications, and construction documents
- Strong communication, organization, and coordination skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and support project delivery in a deadline-driven environment
Desired Qualifications
- Experience working with municipalities, water districts, or public sector clients preferred
- Experience with water/wastewater pipelines, lift stations, pump stations, treatment plant improvements, or utility rehabilitation projects
- Prior experience supporting project management responsibilities such as budgets, schedules, client updates, and team coordination
- Familiarity with TCEQ requirements and Texas municipal utility standards
- Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D, hydraulic modeling, or related design software
- Interest in growing into a full Project Manager role
