Job Summary
Bachelor’s Level SUD Counselor provides individual and group therapy to clients within the scope of their training, conducts alcohol and drug counseling sessions, orients patients to the treatment program, develops and revises formal treatment plans, maintains comprehensive patient records, and stays current on addiction treatment information; position is full-time with weekday hours (8am–4:30pm) and potential evenings/weekends, located in Ravenswood, WV.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in Social Work, Human Services, Counseling, and/or Criminal Justice field
- Two to three years of experience working in community mental health preferred
- Must have demonstrated experience in the treatment and care of men and women who have substance abuse issues
- Must demonstrate a current knowledge of counseling and research findings and literature pertaining to alcohol/drug abuse
- The ability to assess an individual’s need for clinical services
- Knowledge of state and national certification and regulatory standards
- The ability to complete accurate and timely documentation within CMS guidelines
- The ability to work independently
- Demonstrated knowledge of community resources and referral sources
- Must demonstrate the ability to effectively function as an OVP team member
- Must demonstrate the ability to effectively manage multiple tasks concurrently
- Must possess and demonstrate effective communication and organizational skills
- Must demonstrate the ability to customarily and regularly exercise discretion and independent judgment in significant matters
