Job Summary

Coach individual participants in skills necessary for excellent achievement in the sport while maintaining competency in rules, rule interpretations, meet procedures, and coaching techniques. Assist the Head Coach in planning transportation, supervising away contests, and maintaining accurate statistics, records, and results of the season. Reinforce discipline, sportsmanship, and eligibility criteria, overseeing safety conditions and reporting injuries to the Athletic Director. Support fundraising efforts, manage equipment inventory, and develop communications procedures to inform parents and the public. Available to report during the school year consistent with the district's calendar, with a 3% stipend based on previous public school coaching experience.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid teaching certificate
  • Bachelor's degree
  • First aid and CPR training
  • Must be able to report on a regular and consistent basis
  • Maintain consistent and punctual attendance
  • Must have the ability to move about the classroom/building and school property, including bending, pushing/pulling, lifting, twisting, climbing, stooping, or crouching to complete work-related tasks with and without students
  • The ability to listen and effectively orally communicate information and ideas to a diverse population
  • Ability to effectively discern information and formulate appropriate action(s)
  • Ability to critically think and provide appropriate solutions
  • Ability to work effectively and efficiently
  • Must be available to report during the school year consistent with the district's school year calendar
  • The individual selected for this position will be required to pass a criminal history background check

Desired Qualifications

  • Valid teaching certificate and a bachelor's degree preferred
  • Experience in teaching, coaching, and sports medicine preferred
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Demonstrate success in area of application
