Job Summary
Lead Backend Engineer at WrkTalk to own and scale the backend architecture of an enterprise communication platform. This hands-on leadership role involves system design, mentoring engineers, architectural decisions, and building high-performance, secure, real-time systems. Responsibilities include designing and building scalable backend systems using Golang and NestJS, architecting microservices and distributed architectures with WebSockets/WebRTC, optimizing PostgreSQL, Redis, and Kafka, leading code reviews and CI/CD processes, mentoring backend engineers, and collaborating with Product, Frontend, and DevOps teams.
Required Qualifications
- 7+ years of backend development experience.
- 2+ years leading engineering teams.
- Strong expertise in Golang, Node.js/NestJS.
- Experience with Microservices, WebSockets, PostgreSQL, Redis.
- Good knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud-native deployments.
- Strong system design and architecture experience.
- Preferred Background
- Product-based company experience.
- Experience building real-time, high-scale applications.
- Strong ownership mindset and ability to lead technical decisions.
- Ideal Candidate
- A hands-on Engineering Lead who can both architect complex backend systems and manage/mentor engineers, with experience building scalable, production-grade products.
