Job Summary
Writing Tutors at Northampton Community College are responsible for supporting student success through personalized assistance in mastering course material and developing effective learning strategies. The role requires engaging students in critical thinking and fostering academic skill acquisition. Tutors must hold at least an Associate degree in a related field with a grade of B or higher in the subjects they tutor. The position also involves participation in staff meetings, professional development, and maintaining accurate records. Previous tutoring experience is advantageous but not mandatory.
Required Qualifications
- Thorough understanding of the subject(s) that they will tutor
- An Associate degree or above in the discipline or a related field from a regionally accredited institution
- A grade of B or above in each course the candidate intends to tutor
- Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills
