Writing Tutor - Learning Center (Bethlehem or Online)

Job Summary
Part-time position averaging 10 to 25 hours per week. Writing Tutors support student success through personalized approaches to enhance understanding of course material, develop effective learning strategies, engage in critical thinking, and acquire additional academic skills for educational goal achievement. Tutors work with students individually or in small groups, receiving College Reading and Learning Association (CRLA) training with an expectation of certification within one year of employment. Responsibilities include attending staff meetings, participating in ongoing professional development, responding to correspondence, and maintaining accurate records.
Required Qualifications
- Thorough understanding of the subject(s) that they will tutor
- An Associate degree or above in the discipline or a related field from a regionally accredited institution
- A grade of B or above in each course the candidate intends to tutor
- Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills
- Strong analytical skills
- Interest in working with a diverse population of students
- Patience
- Genuine desire to help others learn and succeed
