Job Summary
Create, maintain, and publish detailed System Operations procedures for Eversource's distribution system in Connecticut and the WMA. Develop, revise, and update instructions to ensure alignment with current system configurations, NERC Reliability Standards, and ISO-NE requirements. Coordinate with internal departments, neighboring utilities, and member organizations to gather information for procedure development and updates. Perform periodic reviews of substation operating instructions to verify accuracy and compliance. Represent the team in meetings, committees, and industry forums while participating in event review teams and preparing incident analyses. Provide documentation and support compliance audits as requested. Submit a writing sample if selected. This role requires a hybrid schedule with at least three days in-office (including Tuesdays and Wednesdays) and availability for emergency restoration assignments.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering Technology or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Valid motor vehicle operator's license
- Must be available for emergency restoration assignments as required
- Must be able to travel between MA, CT, and NH as needed
- Knowledge of electric transmission and distribution system operations
- Understanding of system components and their operational functions
- Knowledge of regulatory and compliance requirements (e.g., NERC, ISO-NE)
- Familiarity with document management systems
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematic diagrams
- Ability to collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders and external partners
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Outlook, and databases
- Current guidelines require employees to work at least three days in the office, including Tuesdays and Wednesdays
Desired Qualifications
- Five (5) to eight (8) years of experience in electric power distribution, transmission, or generation preferred
- Two (2) years of System Operator experience preferred
- Two (2) years of procedure writing experience preferred
