Job Summary
Direct, supervise, and evaluate the performance of all assistant coaches while maintaining high academic standards for student athletes. Lead training, conditioning, and performance for the varsity team, ensuring all participants pass medical examinations before the season begins. Personally direct the team at all varsity contests and supervise athletes at invitational meets or post-season competition. Manage equipment inventory, prepare schedules, and oversee official selection and performance evaluations. Foster good sportsmanship and an attitude of pride among participants, spectators, and staff. Observe sub-varsity practices and games, recommend disciplinary actions for rule violations, and maintain records, statistics, and news items. Assist in hiring and retaining assistant coaches, ensuring proper insurance coverage, and preparing lists of eligible players under VHSL rules.
Required Qualifications
- Coaching experience or participation in the sport which you are applying for on high school or college levels
- Completion of CPR and First Aid training or enrollment in current CPR and First Aid training course
Desired Qualifications
- Prefer experience as a teacher or classified employee in Loudoun County Public Schools
- Prefer a Virginia Teaching License candidate or a full-time classified employee for Loudoun County Public Schools
