Job Summary
Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care for patients with wounds, ostomies, and continence disorders in the gastrointestinal, genitourinary, and integumentary systems. Develop comprehensive educational and discharge plans utilizing community resources while documenting progress against stated goals. Serve as a clinical resource and consultant for the healthcare team, collaborate on unit-based quality improvement programs, and participate in orientation and peer support activities. Maintain continuity through clear communication and manage patient assignments based on acuity within rotating per diem shifts.
Required Qualifications
- Current registration in Massachusetts
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
- Certified Wound, Ostomy (CWON) or Certified Wound, Ostomy and Continence (CWOCN) certification
- Recent Wound Ostomy Nursing experience
- In-Patient Certified Wound Ostomy Experience
- Evidence of basic analytic thinking
- Observational skills
- Ability to set priorities
