Job Summary
Assess, treat, and monitor acute and chronic wounds while coordinating the facility's Infection Prevention and Control Program. Conduct comprehensive skin assessments, perform dressing changes, and develop individualized treatment recommendations based on physician orders and evidence-based practices. Monitor healing progress, communicate changes to the interdisciplinary team, and educate residents and staff on wound care and infection prevention protocols. Track infection trends, ensure compliance with regulatory standards, and participate in quality assurance activities to support positive clinical outcomes. Full-time, 12-hour shift with rotating weekends.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an approved practical or registered nursing program
- Current, active, and unencumbered RN or LPN license in the State of Missouri
- Current BLS/CPR certification
- Certification in Infection Prevention and Control
Desired Qualifications
- Wound care education, certification, or relevant experience
- Experience with infection surveillance and infection prevention practices
- Skilled nursing, rehabilitation, long-term care, or memory care experience
- Knowledge of pressure injury prevention, wound staging, skin assessment, and treatment documentation
- Strong clinical assessment, communication, teaching, and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and follow through on identified concerns
- Ability to collaborate effectively with physicians, nursing personnel, department leaders, residents, and families
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accurate documentation
- Professional and compassionate demeanor
- Commitment to treating every resident with compassion, dignity, and respect
