Job Summary
Conduct detailed assessments of all types of wounds, including pressure injuries, surgical wounds, diabetic ulcers, and traumatic wounds. Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized wound care plans in collaboration with interdisciplinary teams. Provide direct wound treatment using advanced modalities, dressings, and techniques while educating patients and caregivers on infection prevention and skin integrity. Monitor wound progress, document changes in the electronic health record, and consult with physicians and specialists as needed. Participate in wound care rounds, quality assurance initiatives, and staff education programs to mentor nursing staff on best practices. Ensure compliance with infection control standards and safety protocols. Requires an active RN license, BLS certification, and at least two years of nursing experience with one year in wound care.
Required Qualifications
- Active RN license in [State] or compact licensure
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
- Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, with at least 1 year in wound care or a related field
- Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
Desired Qualifications
- WOCN or WCC certification (Wound, Ostomy, and Continence Nurse or Wound Care Certified)
- Experience in long-term care, home health, surgical, or acute care settings
