Job Summary
Conduct evaluations for new patients and manage follow-up visits within the OP clinic, performing diagnostic and therapeutic procedures such as wound suturing, debridement, and negative pressure application. Order and interpret laboratory studies, obtain consents, and formulate treatment plans while providing patient education on disease states and healthy living. Coordinate home health care orders and durable medical equipment, supervise daily hyperbaric medicine treatments, and serve as a clinical resource for office staff during physician absence. Maintain accurate progress notes and collaborate with specialty surgeons for post-surgical care.
Required Qualifications
- Current Georgia license for Advanced Practice Nursing
- Master's degree in Nursing
- Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program
- Current license for the Georgia State Composite Board
- Licensed Physician Assistant in the State of Georgia
- Licensed for Advanced Practice Nursing (ACNP, FNP, WHNP)
- Updated NCCPA for PA's
- CPR
- ACLS
- ACLS within 6 months of hyperbaric medicine training
- Hyperbaric medicine training within 6 months of hire
- Skill and ability in electronic medical records applications
- Proficiency in working as a member of a team
- Proficiency in communicating effectively both in writing and verbally
- Skill and ability to handle multiple priorities and deadlines
- Ability to understand legal issues that influence the practice of the extenders
- Ability to lead a team maintaining professional demeanor
- Ability to build effective relationships within and outside PHC
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
Desired Qualifications
- Wound care certification preferred within 2 years of hire (CWON, CWS)
