Job Summary

Prescribe, delegate, and coordinate nursing care for wound and ostomy patients, specializing in treating and monitoring surgical openings, ulcers, feeding tube sites, and abscesses. Assess symptoms, create treatment plans, monitor infections, and clean wounds while educating healthcare members on proper wound management. This full-time day role at Mercy South in St. Louis requires 36 hours per week, current RN licensure, and WCC/WOCN certification. Physical demands include lifting 50 pounds, prolonged standing, and repetitive bending or kneeling.

Required Qualifications

  • Graduated from a school of nursing (Associate's Degree, Diploma, or BSN)
  • Current RN license within the hiring state and/or compact licensure
  • WCC/WOCN certification
  • Ability to push, pull, and/or lift 50 pounds on a regular basis
  • Ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties
  • Advanced skills to assess symptoms that require management of complex wounds
  • Ability to treat and monitor wounds that are the result of disease, injury, or medical treatments
  • Ability to create and implement treatment plans
  • Ability to monitor infections and signs of various infections
  • Ability to clean wounds
  • Ability to educate other healthcare members in the area of proper wound care
