Job Summary
Prescribe, delegate, and coordinate nursing care for wound and ostomy patients, specializing in the treatment and monitoring of surgical openings, ulcers, feeding tube sites, and abscesses. Assess wounds, create and implement treatment plans, monitor infections, and clean wounds while educating other healthcare members on proper care techniques. Requires WCC/WOCN certification, current RN licensure, and physical ability to lift 50 pounds, stand, and walk for prolonged shifts. Full-time day position at Mercy South in St. Louis, MO.
Required Qualifications
- Graduated from a school of nursing (Associate's Degree, Diploma, or BSN)
- Current RN license within the hiring state and/or compact licensure
- WCC/WOCN certification
- Ability to push, pull, and/or lift 50 pounds on a regular basis
- Ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties
- Advanced skills to assess symptoms that require management of complex wounds
- Ability to prescribe, delegate, and coordinate nursing care for wound and ostomy care patients
