Job Summary
Wound Care Nurse RN responsible for specialized nursing care of residents with wounds, ostomies, or continence disorders. Provides routine daily nursing care and services per resident assessments and care plans, collaborates with physicians, and ensures compliance with facility, federal, state, and local standards including HIPAA. Delivers care 24/7, documents care thoroughly, monitors infection control, and supervises non-licensed staff as needed. Responsibilities include evaluating wound care protocols, treating skin irritation and infection risks, completing medical forms and charting, and communicating with residents, families, physicians, guardians, and facility personnel. Requires CPR/BLS certification, strong communication, organizational skills, and ability to adapt to a flexible schedule with occasional overnight travel.
Required Qualifications
- Must be CPR trained and possess a current BLS certification
- Current RN license in the state
- Nursing degree or diploma from an accredited college or university
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
- Analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to organize and prioritize work
- Understands infection control standards and procedures
- Flexible work schedule with occasional overnight travel
