Job Summary
Assess, treat, and monitor residents' wounds as ordered by the physician, ensuring appropriate care, follow-up, and resident comfort. Liaise between the Wound Specialist Physician and nursing staff to ensure seamless communication and care coordination. Collaborate with the Interdisciplinary Team to address all aspects of care contributing to effective wound healing. Participate in creating and achieving Wound Care Program objectives while delivering educational programming to promote wound care knowledge among the nursing team. Assist in implementing wound care policies, procedures, and standards to ensure regulatory compliance during surveys and inspections. Develop individualized treatment plans for each resident and continuously identify opportunities to improve systems enhancing the quality and effectiveness of wound care.
Required Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited nursing school
- RN or LPN with active licensure to practice in the state of employment
- Current Wound Care Certification
- CPR certification
- A minimum of 1 year of wound care experience (preferably 2 years) in a healthcare setting
- Must be compassionate
- Must be detail-oriented
- Must be dedicated to providing the best care for residents
- Ability to collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, and interdisciplinary teams effectively
- Familiarity with corporate and external regulatory guidelines related to wound care and healthcare practices
