Job Summary
Provide expert wound care and skin management for residents in a rural skilled nursing setting. Responsibilities include performing assessments, developing and implementing individualized plans of care, evaluating outcomes, and adjusting treatments as needed. Collaborate with the Director of Nursing, physicians, nurse practitioners, and the broader care team to ensure comprehensive, evidence-based wound care. Deliver primary skin care under medical direction, including removing dressings, applying medications per protocol, and redressing wounds. Delegate and supervise resident care within licensure, document according to current standards, and ensure compliance with state, federal, and facility policies. Communicate effectively with residents, families, and staff; educate residents and caregivers on prevention techniques; participate in ongoing training and professional development; and contribute to a culture of quality care and continuous improvement.
Required Qualifications
- Licensure as an RN in the state of Wisconsin in good standing
- Wound Care Certification
- Experience in LTC preferred
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Strong desire to work with the elderly
- English literacy
- Leadership and communication skills
- CPR certification
