Job Summary
Assess and treat wounds in patients' homes using evidence-based guidelines and electronic patient records. Administer wound care treatments, apply dressings, and create individualized care plans while maintaining accurate documentation. Provide education to patients and caregivers on techniques and prevention, ensuring strict adherence to infection control protocols and HIPAA regulations. Maintain a valid driver's license and reliable transportation to travel to patient locations. This role supports Esperta Health's mission to standardize wound care and improve healing outcomes through concentrated expertise.
Required Qualifications
- Licensed Registered Nurse (RN) with an active and unrestricted nursing license in the state of practice
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation, with ability to travel to patient homes
- Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA regulations
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree preferred
- Minimum of three years of experience in wound care nursing preferred
- Certification in Wound, Ostomy, and Continence Nursing (WOCN) or other company-approved wound care certification is a plus; new hires may be eligible to take the certification exam within 60 days of employment with reimbursement upon passing
- Strong knowledge of evidence-based wound care practices and guidelines
- Proficient in documentation using electronic health record (EHR) systems
- Excellent critical thinking, multitasking, and communication skills
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
