Job Summary
Outer West Community Church is seeking a full-time Worship Arts Pastor to lead the weekend worship experience with musical and creative vision, in collaboration with the Creative Arts Director and Lead Pastor. The role includes directing and developing the worship team and volunteers, planning and evaluating services to ensure intentional worship, providing pastoral care through preaching, weddings, funerals, hospital visits, and coaching, and managing administrative duties such as the event calendar and worship area budget. The candidate will partner with the Creative Arts Director on production, oversee worship and service execution, supervise staff and volunteers, and contribute to a spiritually formative environment consistent with the church’s mission and values.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in music, ministry, or a related field (preferred)
- At least three years of progressively responsible worship or music ministry experience (or high level of musical competence in band leadership, music ministry, modulation and transposition, and improvisation)
- Pastoral license or ordination a plus
- Grounded in biblical theology and spiritual formation; alignment with church beliefs and practices
- Fluent in worship elements: vocal, instrumental, visual, content, and movement
- Comfortable with Planning Center Online; proficient with Mac and PC; Office and Google apps; music software such as Finale, Logic, MainStage, and Ableton Live
- Experience in supervision, project management, and budget administration
- Clear communication skills; ability to build relationships and delegate effectively
- Active personal relationship with Jesus Christ
- Commitment to church mission, values, and covenants
- Willingness to partner across departments to lead and launch ministry initiatives
